About Us

The Institute for Crisis Resolution, Peacebuilding and Conciliation (ICRPC) is a leading professional membership body established in 2009 and authorized by the Federal Government of Nigeria after due process for the development of Crisis management and peacebuilding in Nigeria through education and personal development/learning. It was known first as the Centre for Crisis Prevention and Peace Advocacy (CCPPA). Certified Crisis Managers of ICRPC believed that a strong and organized platform could help support collaborative peacebuilding for conflict transformation, create a civilization of peace and promote the development of crisis management education in Nigeria and beyond. ICRPC plays a major role in developing and disseminating innovative approaches to negotiation and crisis management, including collaboration between conflict resolution organizations and organizations in the field of democratization, human rights, security and economic reconstruction. ICRPC is membership driven with members drawn from both public and private sectors. In addition to setting professional standards, the institute also trains and certifies professional Crisis Managers, Peacebuilding Practitioners and Conciliators, and inducts them into the Institute as Graduate Members (GICRPC), Associate Members (AICRPC), Full members (MICRPC), Senior Members (SICRPC) and Fellows (FICRPC).

recognized programme of study approved by the council such as Bsc, BA, LLB, MBBS, HND, PGD, MBA, MPA, Msc, PHD in Peace and Conflict Studies, or mediation & Negotiation, Social Sciences OR professional qualifications from accredited bodies. Graduates in other disciplines other the ones mentioned above can also be considered based on relevant years of working experience.
The membership grades are open to: Diplomats, Military Personnel, Lawyers,Human Resource Officers/Directors, Executives Officers, Judges/Magistrates,Traditional/Religions/Political leaders, company secretaries/legal advisers, chief registrars, law makers, council managers, NGO/IGO Officials, law enforcement officers, special Advisers, conflict management consultants, labour union executives, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, pastors, Imams, proprietors, and members of other segments of the society.

Goals and Objectives

  1. Promote research in Crisis Prevention, Peacebuiding and Conciliation
    • Publish and disseminate research findings
    • Publish relevant journals.
    • Host annual convention/pre-conferences and regional meetings.
    • Recognize members with awards.
    • Promote best practices to foster Leadership, ethics, credibility, and integrity.
  2. Organize training, education, mentoring, and varied career opportunities in Crisis resolution, Peacebuilding and Conciliation
    • Foster continuing professional education and development through conferences, workshops, and other events.
    • Develop academic and non-academic career resources.
    • Promote the development of Crisis management education and organization as well as foster mutual understanding and encourage sound ethical business relationships between conflict management practitioners.
  3. Increase the public and scientific impact of the field to benefit society
    • To provide members/practitioners and decision makers with the understanding and the tools for crafting sound policies for crisis management and peace building.
    • Host a centralized website organized by expertise.
    • Maintain a social media presence.
    • Advocate for funding and policies that expand the reach of the field.
  4. Maintain a register of members and the publication and the lists of those persons or organizations from time to time.
    • Collect and maintain field-relevant data.
    • To recognize crisis management practitioners/members annually in various capacities as Peace Ambassadors and Peace Pillars of the year GOLD,
    • SILVER and BRONZE awards on practicing and qualified peace advocates and establish a roll of honour for distinguished peace advocates.
    • Follow transparent and prudent financial practices (e.g., align income with expenses).
    • Align the income and expenditures of the institute with ICRPC’s mission, values, and goals
